Trials & Joys Shared

The congregation is a community of memory and hope. It is a microcosm of the history of humanity, and symbolic of the way each life bears a likeness to God. Thus, the Rites of Passage conducted by the church mark off not only the seasons of individual lives, but chronicle the life of the human family in its search for the true and the good, and its struggle for meaning, love, and justice. A faith tradition can be known in part by the way it welcomes new life, celebrates covenants of love and commitment, and ushers lives out of this one and into the great unknown.
